Theresa Sherry, CEO, Sherry Sports, LLC and Founder of TENacity10
Theresa graduated from Princeton University in 2004, where she played Lacrosse and Soccer. Sherry helped the Tigers to NCAA Championships in both 2002 and 2003, as well as the NCAA semifinals in 2001 and finals in 2003. The Tigers also captured Ivy League Championships in each of her four seasons at Princeton and in 2004, she was the conference’s Player of the Year. In addition, Sherry was named All- American as a player in 2002, 2003, and 2004 and was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy as the nation’s top women’s lacrosse player as a senior in 2004. On top of lacrosse, Sherry was a four-year letterwinner for the Princeton women’s soccer team, serving as team captain and helping the program to three Ivy League Championships.
Sherry easily shifted from player to coach. She volunteered at Amherst College and Smith College in 2005 and 2006, following her college career. Sherry accepted an Assistant Coaching position at Cal Berkeley for the 2007 season and became Head Coach in the summer of 2007. She received MPSF Coach of the Year Honors in her first year after leading her team to a regular season second place finish. In 2009, Sherry led the Cal team to a second place finish after losing in the MPSF Championship Game.
With Sherry Sports, Theresa has worked with girl’s lacrosse players all over the western region of the United States and Texas. In 2012, Sherry Sports is running 13 premiere travel teams in the San Francisco Bay Area- 11 BearLax Club teams and 2 teams representing Northern California in the U.S. Lacrosse U-15 National Championships. In the summer of 2012, Sherry will also direct the Western Winners Recruiting Showcase for top college prospects, and 9 TENacity10 Training Camps for youth and high school players all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Sherry Sports also runs the Summer Splash and Bay Area Bonanza Tournaments in order to bring college coaches to the west coast players, and also to provide opportunities for western clubs to prepare their teams for the big national recruiting tournaments held on the east coast.
TENacity10 also operates instructional clinics and college recruiting information sessions all over the country. Sherry has guided over 50 student-athletes through the college process, helping some of these young women attend the following schools: Brown, Cal Berkeley, Cal Poly, Catholic, Chapman, Claremont Mudd-Scripps, Connecticut College, Cornell, Ferrum, Fresno State, Howard, Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon, Pomona, Regis, San Diego State, Skidmore, Stanford, Stevens Institute of Technology, St. Mary’s, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UMASS Amherst, USC, Virginia, Washington & Lee, Wesleyan, and Williams College.
Theresa Klein, Director of Operations
Theresa Klein joined BearLax in August of 2010. She managed the 2010 and 2011 U-15 NorCal Teams. She is very active with BearLax and assists with database management, internal and external correspondence, equipment orders, travel coordination, facility reservations, and tournament registrations. She is also instrumental in the operation of the TENacity10 Training Camps, the Western Winners Showcase, the Summer Splash, and the Bay Area Bonanza.
